Praying for Persecuted Christians in Somalia

based on Open Doors 2018 World Watch List

Islam is the established religion in this nation forming the ‘Horn’ of Africa.  Only about 1 out of every 17,000 citizens are Christian.  The public message throughout society is that there is no room for Christians in the country.  With sharia law dominating the land, there are no safe places for Christians to practice their faith.  It is a violent country where believers face horrific challenges, but Christians still choose to follow Jesus knowing these dangers.

Prayer points:

  • For safety and opportunities for these isolated believers to worship together and encourage one another.
  • For shrewd evangelists who share the Good News at great risk.
  • For President Mohamed and the country’s rulers to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • For drawing many Muslims to Jesus.
